Guest ID Verification

We ask every guest for a government-issued photo ID before the Door Access Code (PIN) is generated. Here's what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it afterwards.

Step 1

What We Ask For

One government-issued photo ID for the lead guest (the person who made the booking). Upload a clear photo of the ID through our system when you generate your door codes.

Accepted IDs

  • Passport
  • National ID card
  • Driver’s licence

Not Accepted

  • Private company / employer IDs
  • Student or membership cards
  • Any non-government issued ID

The Why

Why We Ask

Legal Compliance

Nepal’s hospitality regulations require accommodation providers to keep a record of overnight guests.

Booking Integrity

Confirms the person collecting the door code is the person who booked — this protects you (card fraud) and us (impersonation).

Building Security

The residential building’s management is entitled to know who is staying on the property.

Step 2

When We Need It

ID is collected together with door-code generation — the secure link does both in one place.

  1. 1

    Direct / Card Bookings

For bookings made with instant payment methods like credit card, your ID is requested when you open the secure link to generate your door codes.

  2. 2

    Bank-Deposit Bookings

For bookings paid by bank transfer, your ID is also requested at the time of generating your door code via the same secure link.

  3. 3

    If You Don’t Upload

If your ID is not uploaded, the door code simply cannot be generated for your stay. Upload as soon as the secure link arrives so the Door Access Code (PIN) is ready when you are.

Step 3

How We Store Your ID

  1. 1

    Where It Lives

ID images are stored in our private booking system, operated by a third-party provider with a strict privacy policy. Access is restricted to the host only — no shared inboxes, no group chats.

  2. 2

    24-Hour Purge

We purge your ID image 24 hours after check-out, unless there is an active dispute that requires us to keep it as evidence. We do not share IDs with third parties except where compelled by law.

  3. 3

    How We Won’t Ask

We do not request ID via WhatsApp, email, SMS or any other unsecured channel. If someone claiming to be us asks you to send ID through one of those, it is not us — report it to us on our verified WhatsApp number immediately.
