Built around the working day

Specific to the consultant / contractor / business-traveller stay: the things a hotel does not give you and a vacation rental does not think about.

Real workspace, not a kitchen table

Dedicated desk, ergonomic chair, monitor stand, the right outlet placement, and an A4 notepad in the drawer. Built for the 6-hour day, not a one-off Zoom call.

Fast fibre Wi-Fi + Ethernet drop

Tested at 80–150 Mbps with an Ethernet drop on request for the call you cannot afford to drop. Backup mobile-data dongle available on the rare day the fibre goes down.

Inverter back-up — calls survive power cuts

Battery back-up keeps Wi-Fi, lights, and one charging outlet running through any city power cut. Your call does not drop because Kathmandu drops.

Airport pickup with name placard

Pre-arranged pickup from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Normal or Luxury car tier. Driver waits at Arrivals with your name on a placard. 30-minute buffer for flight delays included.

Itemised receipt for expense reports

Full itemised invoice in your name and your company name, in USD or NPR, with tax breakdown. Issued on departure day; reimbursable through Concur, Ramp, Pleo and the rest.

Central — walking distance to most offices

New Plaza, Putalisadak is a 10-minute taxi to most central Kathmandu offices, embassies and UN-system compounds. Lazimpat (embassy strip) is a 12-minute walk.

Self check-in for any flight time

Smart-lock 24/7 self check-in. 4am arrival from Doha, 11pm landing from Delhi — same flow. No reception desk to queue at, no key handover.

Local host on WhatsApp

Local English-speaking host on WhatsApp from booking confirmation onwards. Restaurant reservations, last-minute laundry, the SIM-card recommendation — answered in under an hour during waking hours.

The apartments — which works for your trip

Studio for a solo trip. Two-bedroom for a colleague pair or a longer project rotation. Live rates and availability on each listing.

How long to your office or meeting

  • Lazimpat embassy strip — 12 minutes on foot, leafy walk past the Royal Palace area. Most G7 embassies, several UN agencies, half the international NGOs.
  • Maharajgunj — UN compound, main hospital quarter — 15 minutes by taxi, including rush hour buffer.
  • Pulchowk — UN-system + larger NGO compounds (Patan) — 15 minutes by taxi in light traffic; 25 minutes in rush.
  • Sanepa / Jhamsikhel — NGO consultancy quarter — 20 minutes by taxi. Best cafe density in the valley for between-meeting catch-ups.
  • Babar Mahal / Singha Durbar — Government / ministerial — 10 minutes by taxi.
  • New Baneshwor — Convention centre, larger commercial — 12 minutes by taxi.
  • Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) — 10 minutes outside rush hour, 25 in rush. Buffer accordingly for the outbound flight.

Business travel in Kathmandu — FAQs

Can I get an itemised receipt for my company expense report?
Yes — full itemised receipts in your name and company name, in USD or NPR, with tax breakdown, issued on departure day or earlier on request. Reimburses cleanly through Concur, Ramp, Pleo, Expensify and the rest. We can also issue a single combined receipt covering accommodation + airport pickup + cleaning fee so finance only processes one line item.
Is the Wi-Fi fast enough for client video calls and screen sharing?
Yes. Tested at 80–150 Mbps download on the main Wi-Fi network, with an Ethernet drop available on request for stability. Suitable for HD video calls (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams), live screen-sharing, and large file uploads. Inverter back-up keeps the connection alive through any city power cut so your call does not drop mid-presentation.
How close are the apartments to the main offices and embassies?
New Plaza, Putalisadak is central. 12-minute walk to the Lazimpat embassy strip. 10-minute taxi to most central Kathmandu commercial offices. 15 minutes to the UN compound and most large international NGO offices in Pulchowk / Sanepa. 20 minutes to the larger Patan-side offices. 10 minutes to Tribhuvan International Airport.
Do you accommodate a colleague joining mid-stay?
Yes. Each apartment sleeps multiple guests; adding a colleague is straightforward. The Tiny Living 2BR apartments sleep up to 6. For separate apartments for separate consultants on the same project, we have three apartments in the same building — colleagues stay together but with private space. Message us on WhatsApp to coordinate.
Can the company book and pay rather than the individual traveller?
Yes. Two routes: (1) the traveller books online and the company reimburses via Concur/expense report, with the itemised invoice in the company name. Or (2) the company books direct via WhatsApp/email and we issue a pro-forma invoice for bank transfer payment, no card hold required. Useful for travellers without a company card.
What about laundry and dry cleaning?
Every apartment has a washing machine in the bathroom area — detergent provided, clothesline on the balcony. For the corporate shirts that need pressing or dry cleaning, we have a same-day pickup-and-return arrangement with a local laundry service (NPR 200 per shirt pressed, NPR 600 per suit dry-cleaned). Drop off by 09:00, back by 18:00.
Is there a meeting space or boardroom on-site?
Each apartment has a dining table that comfortably seats 4 for an informal meeting, and the living area can accommodate a 6-person discussion. For a formal boardroom-style meeting we can arrange a meeting room at one of three serviced offices within a 10-minute taxi — typically USD 30–60 per half-day. Tell us on WhatsApp and we will book.
Can I get a stamped accommodation letter for my company's travel admin?
Yes — a one-page stamped accommodation letter on Tiny Living letterhead, in your name and your company name, confirming check-in and check-out dates, issued within 24 hours of booking. Useful for company travel insurance, visa applications, and certain expense systems that require it.
What stay length suits a business trip best?
For 1–2 nights, a central hotel with concierge is genuinely simpler — the apartment overhead does not pay off. For 3–13 nights, a serviced apartment becomes meaningfully better than a hotel: real workspace, kitchen for breakfast / late-night work fuel, washing machine for clothes. For 14+ nights, the monthly stay rate kicks in and the apartment is dramatically cheaper than the hotel equivalent.
Do you have late checkout for early-morning flight days?
Standard checkout is 11:00. For project-cycle reasons you may need a 14:00 or 18:00 checkout — message us on WhatsApp at the time of booking and we will block the next stay accordingly. Late checkout is free if the calendar allows and NPR 1,500 if we hold the apartment empty for you. Early check-in (before 15:00) is the same arrangement.
